Orlanthi on involuntary migration

Does anybody around here have an idea what a defeated clan or tribe of Orlanthi would carry off on a migration to new lands? Like e.g. the Torkani, after they were soundly defeated by the Dundealos in Sambarri Pass?

Would the Helvetian migration (as described by Caesar, are there any other sources for this?) be a model for such a migration?

I am most of all interested in how these people would get their seed grain in their new territory, and how they'll survive until getting there.
