two spears

        You fling both of them at once - or at least thats what the account of using two spears at once from the Norse sagas involves, as mentioned by David Weihe. I got the story from the Chivalry and Sorcery supplement with Vikings in it, which is where I remember it from. From which I assume that they are shortish and throwable, if not really as light as javelins, though thrown from close enough to taunt, as David recalls (I love the Viking sense of humour).

        The real trick from that supplement (presumably also taken from a saga source) was dodging the spear to the side, grabbing it as it went past, spinning around with it, and flinging it straight back. Hero material there...
