>Betting he gets to keep his Bladesharp 8, though,

I'm not so sure he would, *if* you subscribe to the total severance theory. Maybe his new Humakt priest would say "No, that's not the right way to do it - forget that spell, and have this Bladesharp 4".

Stephen Martin ask for (bullied me into) comments on his Orlanth Rex:

>It is written as a separate cult, though in the
>published version it was a subcult of the unified Orlanth Cult.

I don't see how Orlanth Rex can effectively exist as an independen cult as you have described it.

Orlanth Thunderous could exist on its own, but his worshippers would mainly be hoping to propitiate his anger and avoid a good soaking too often, and maybe get the odd thunderbolt spell. Orlanth Adventurous I see as mainly for the young folk of the community, who go out fighting and adventuring, or like to say they are. Orlanth Rex is just for the kings and thanes, and there are a limit to the number of these.

The only way that these cults can add up to something truly great is in concert.

Call me out of date, but the only way that I can see it working is to have one major all-encompassing cult, that of Orlanth. Within this structure, and dependent entirely on it, are the specialists, which are Thunderous, Adventurous and Rex. Whenever a good soaking is required, a whole load of Orlanth worshippers join in with the Thunderous subcult, and a soaking is ordered. If there is fighting or questing to be done, everyone mucks in with the Adventurous subcult, and if the King needs to do some stuff, like punish a usurper, lead an army into battle, or just make sure the crops don't fail, he orders a worship ceremony to Orlanth Rex.

Command Worshippers: This is a very powerful spell, especially for a reuseable one, and I can't really see the use of it. It would allow a traitor to open the doors to an invading army!

Command Tribe: Again, very powerful for a reuseable spell. How about these:

Appoint Militia
Ritual Ceremony
area of effect special, nonstackable, reusable

This spell allows a thane to appoint a number of Orlanth initiates as Militia. The thane must spend a point of POW, and a number of MPs equal to the number of initiates to be appointed.

Command Militia
1 Point
area of effect special, instant, nonstackable, reuseable

This spell compels all appointed Militia in the caster's tribe who are on tribal lands to hastily finish immediate business, gather equipment, and report to the summoning individual within two days of the spell's casting. During this two-day period the caster must remain in the same spot or else the spell disperses, releasing the worshippers from their compulsion to report for duty.

When cast by a clan chieftain who is a temporary member of Orlanth Rex, the spell will summon all Militia in the caster's clan who are on or enter the clan lands.

All Orlanth initiates in the caster's clan or tribe (as above) are aware when this spell is cast.

This spell is a privilege, and must not be abused. It is used only for emergencies or joyous celebrations.
