Erik's piece on Sartar vs. the Empire was interesting. Especially the bit about toppling the House of Sartar, and it's mythical effects.

It's obvious really; Sartar made himself the wyter of his kingdom and could thus bind the tribes with Harmony/Unity* (Pavis did the same thing for his city). So when the wyter is shattered, the Unity of the Kingdom of Sartar is shattered.

If the Lunars had not been forced to attack Sartar due to being allies with Tarsh, who were the real aggressors against Sartar, they could have pulled the same stunt they pulled in the LARP People of Pavis: marrying Pavis to the Red Goddess. Maybe not Orlanth himself, but Sartar himself.

Disturbing thought: What if the Shaker Temple hadn't been friendly with the Tarsh Exiles? Imagine the horror of Maran Gor made sister to the Red Goddess.
