Gary R Switzer howled into the abyss:

Alternatively, it could be argued that the Lunars have been seeking a warm water port. This would explain why they constructed Corflu, and why they are invading the Holy Country.

So to add to Gary Switzer's questions: why would the Lunars want to have access to the sea?
