Divination

Many thanks to the clear remarks of Martin, Nick, Pam, and too many people for me to remember their names accuratly!

One thing that just struck me regarding divination is the following:

Suppose you're my Hypothetical Orlanthi who popped onto the God plane because you have Big Business to do. You are You emulating Argrath emulating Orlanth. So, for all intents and purposes, you ARE Orlanth. As Orlanth you are running around doing something Important, and all of a sudden, you hear some choadmonkey's divination, "Oh Great Orlanth, Master of the Winds, blah blah blah... Are you really West King Wind?" Or worse yet, "Orlanth, HELP ME! ARRRGGHHH!!"

What I'm saying, is that when a Hero assumes the mantel of his god, he might have to deal with some of the problems that god has to deal with and since he hasn't achieved the PERFECTION of that god, he might not be able to deal with it consistantly or adequatly. So, next time you roll a 94 on your DI, just figure that you called up "Rupert Cloudboy" who's trying to figure out how to make it rain next Sunday, and couldn't heal you if he wanted to.
