Humath/humakt (long personal ramble)

Ramble mode on. I gone back and edited the most incoherent (maybe!). One day I'll understand what I _was_ trying to say...

Something worries me wrt the idea that the Gods can change but that we can't know where/what they've come from: ie. what is the 'real' truth of the matter. I suggest that one of the central ideas if flawed: a conflict between the idea that we can never know what really happened vs. there are absolutes. Take real world history: we know some things happened-100%, definitely. eg. the romans moved into Judea pre-0 AD. The people, their motivations etc. we can speculate on, sometimes very very accurately, but we do know it happened*. IMHO I'm seeing too much of the 'there are no absolutes' brigade.#

If a person heroquested following Humakt's deeds backwards, by investigation they will either come to a point in which Humakt was born following the precepts of one religious happening,(bet they won't get that far though) or where some shifty godlearner or
Arkat pulled a fast one and created Humakt from something/one else. In any case, I believe it is not impossible to find this out. A Humakti who comes across Humath, and sees the similarities must start wondering where this other being fits in. A not-insubstantial HQ would, taken to an intelligent conclusion, find out what 'really happened' (tm). Of course, the follower may feel that the other God is but a shadow and aspect of the greater Humakt (their god). The Humathi can't feel likewise because of the progression of events that made Humakt: the humathi have not got the story of the severing of Storm ties. It would be different if they had a story of severing the ties, then regaining them. Then the Humathi could feel superior (by myth) vs the Humakti.

It may be that there were different beings born at one time, who later came together to be the God Humakt. This too is verifiable via Heroquest as all events leave their mark.

I prefer my Glorantha to have absolutes. They don't have to be everywhere but they do have to be there. The interpretavists may hang me for it, and expunge my name and deeds, but there is an echo always... my spirit is available for consultation at reasonable rates; Llankhor Mhy, Issaries and Donadar know much, if not all, about these petty things. Their followers know less but also know the truth about truth. All may be disorder, but there is no disorder with some order (cf. A.Eurmal, personal communication, outside the Gates of Hell).

# of course, the answer is for me to get going and publish galore my ideas. This is partly answered by my prior mailing re: the Glorantha word trademark(?).
