The Arkat Cult teaches spells like Boost Elemental, Project Darksense and See Rune Magic in addition to the standard RQIII sorcery spells. This is available to those who join the cult of Arkat. A Kyger Litor Priestess is not allowed to become a sorcerer (which through careful perusal of the roolz indicates that she can't become an apprentice sorcerer or higher) but an acolyte of Kyger Litor and Karrg's Son has no prohibitions. Mistress Race Uz are free to ignore these prohibitions.

Personally I think that KL Priestesses can join the cult of Arkat to learn sorcery but few outside ralios do so because of the lack of a cultic presence there.

Carl Fink:

Stated that he wants surprises to occur in Heroquesting. While I'll quibble about his example (Humath *was* the Lord of Death before his cult was changed by Arkat), I've no problem with the actual concept. If such a thing didn't happen, the God Learners would still be alive today!

Even if we restrict 'surprises' to events that were not caused by other people (ie the circumstances of the Pharoah's murder does not qualify as it was caused by the Lunars), then surprises still occur in Glorantha. Examples of such happenings would be the Syndics Ban, the reappearance of Umaliath and the results of the Goddess Switch.

Borderlands mentioned Ankylosaurs and Deinonychuses. The ES Secrets Book lists Stegosaurs, Allosaurs and Monocerouses and seemingly implies that these are species known to the Sartarites.

Q: What did the Ikadz torturer do to the Gerran cultist?
