That might be useful.... Hmm, might be useable.

Pathwalker.

Pathmaker.

Pathmarker.

But the bit I really, really, like is the suggestion that the POW you bind on the God Plane (both for Rune Magic and for Pathmaking) comes with a psychic cost.

I would however suggest one modification to his scheme.

Rather than binding you to the person you were at the time of sacrificing for Rune Magic, let it bind you to the personality of the deity. The more Storm Bull magic you know the more like the Bull you become. Giving bonuses for Bullish Traits. (Query: on the current set of traits, what does Lhankhor Mhy favour?)

And I would suggest that to make a Free Will decision such as to break faith with your cult you would have to roll an opposed roll between the POW that is currently your own and the POW that is currently in a fixed form on the God Plane. Once your Other World Power is greater than your Mundane World Power you are on your way to loosing Free Will.

We also need a mechanic for forced apotheosis: the point at which the Hero can no longer exist on the Mundane Plane. I was planning to require a check each Sacred Time. The Other World Power would attack the Mundane World Power and attempt to pull the Hero into the Eternal World.

We need a going rate for effects on personality traits.....

(A last thought: One Use Rune Magic should affect personality only while you have it stored. Reusable would have permanent effects.)

Yes! I like this!
