David Dunham:
<< I have a question about Dragon Pass: what sort of dinosaurs might one find  there? The board game has trachodons, brontosaurus, pterodactyl, and  triceratops. The Genertela book says there are occasionally carnivorous  dinosaurs in the Grazelands. I couldn't find much more -- I guess dinosaurs  never made it to a distribution map like the weird species listed in the  Gloranthan Bestiary. >>

Some possible carnivorous dinosaurs include daspletosaurs and dromaeosaurs.
I'm just guessing here, based on a fairly limited knowledge of dinosaurs. I don't even know whether or not these particular species live in Glorantha. Daspletosaurus is a small relative of T rex, around 30' long and with longer forelimbs than its more famous relative. Dromaeosaurus is a relative of the infamous Velociraptor, and looks very similar to that beast. It probably hunted in packs. Like Velociraptor it was probably nor especially intelligent
(though not bad by dinosaur standards), regardless of what certain films may
tell you. Deinonychus, mentioned by Peter, is a larger version of the same animal (around 8' long).

If you're looking for herbivores besides those listed by Peter (all of which I agree with - anyway, as he says they have the advantage of being 'official'), Stygimoloch is an interesting option, not least 'cos it's got a really cool sounding name, don't you think?. This was a 7' bonehead dinosaur with lots of spikes and horns on its head. Similar creatures, such as stegoceras, also seem possible.

I've picked the above because they are not particular large dinosaurs
(since the large ones would have a much bigger impact on the Pass if present
in large enough numbers to support an ongoing population) and they might have lived in the right sort of climate/terrain. But I'm certainly no expert on this field, so I'm certainly willing to bow to anyone with superior knowledge out there...

I have stats for all of the above creatures in my own game, and I could translate them to RQ for anyone who is interested. Completely unofficial, and all IMO, of course.

Forward the glorious Red Army!
