Sacred Time

IMG Safelster celebrates the Sacred Time. Different sects celebrate it in different ways, although the underlying theme (coming from the Dark Empire and the God Learner occupation) is to celebrate the creation of the Universe and to pray so that it can continue one year more.

In particular the Rokari have a clear dichotomy. The first week is a week of celebration, carnivals and festivities. Winter is over, but there is not much work to do. Usually the stores for the winter that have not been spent are drunk and eaten with joy. The big Tournament at Kustria takes the whole week. The church ensures that the weather is mild the whole week.

The second week is spent in prayer and penance (and recovering :-)). Every day has its own special ceremonies, to ward against the different menaces and to glorify the prophets of the IG. It is a popular time to make Quests, as the barriers between the Mundane and the Spiritual are weak. Some terrible spirits and shadows of old powers walk the land, and only the protection of the Church may keep them at bay. It is the usual time for confirming knights and priests, although many other ceremonies, such as marriages or namings (whereupon a child takes a name, and becomes a person) are never done in this week.

Of course the rumours that the Ecclesiarch has led no ceremonies the last ten years because he is occupied in some private ceremonies involving oysters, virgins, or both are heretical, and punished as such.
