Mike asks:

> How many Heroes can you think of who did more than one major Quest?
> How many did more than two?

Here are the heroquests of Harmast Barefoot, a peasant who rose to duty:

  1. To gain awakening
  2. To gain the blessing of King Heort and Orlanth Adventurous
  3. To scout the path to the Hidden Gate
  4. To arm himself, wherein he gained his sword, shield and boots
  5. To ambush Jajamokki
  6. Upon the Lightbringer's path to the land of the Dead he discovered Arkat and freed him
  7. To regain his plough and sow from Jajamokki
  8. Upon the Lightbringer's path again he was wounded but returned with the keys of Kartolin to aid Talor, whom the Westerners called the Laughing Warrior
  9. The Sky Giant's Castle
  10. The return from the Court of Silence

OK, you can subjectively argue which of these is Major. But someone in Glorantha thought they were ten HQs, worth listing separately.

NB: my main problem with the idea that "real" heroes do dummy-run after dummy-run of their intended HQ paths (whether as temple 'dry-runs' or as low-intensity practices) before going for the Big One for real is that it=

doesn't make for very interesting heroes, or very interesting play value.=

The difference between the rehearsal and the real thing is like the difference between playing Poker with friends betting paper money, as against playing with enemies betting your fingers, limbs and lives (including, of course, those of your loved ones): a different intensity altogether, agreed that the rules are (notionally) the same -- though you=

*know* that your enemies might be cheating...
