Hi Guys, Just some more things that came to mind: Vingans: Prince August Ltd. of Ireland [Telephone: +353 26 40222, Fax: +353 26 40004] produce the Mithiril range of Middle Earth Figures...Back in '94 they produced a Dunland Girl Warrior [#M318] which is perfect [IMHO] as a Vingan. She wears trews, metal discs cover her breasts and has shortish, spikey hair. Topping it off - her small round shield has the Mobility Rune on it! Perfect! Uz: Prince August also make a line of cast-your-own figure molds. A long time ago i picked up the Goblin mold and two of their Orc molds [there is one other Orc mold in the line]. Each mold contains 3 figures. Last night i was examining the figures again and i think they make pretty good Uz. The goblins are emaciated and mis-shapen enough to be pathetic Enlo, and the Orcs look enough like the published artwork to do for Uz. They are not the comic Orks that the majority of companies produce these days, nor are they merely damn-ugly humans! They have good-sized tusks, protruding snouts and prominent, pointed ears. Most of the figures wear helmets, those that don't are generally bald, though one Orc Berserker figure has a short "top-not" of hair spiked up on his head. Easy to trim if you desire. Two of the goblins are armed with primitive clubs, the third is charging aggressively [or desperately] with a sword. One of the clubs could be trimmed away [the casting metal is very soft] and replaced with a sling [at the ready] or a spear [defensive or "braced" pose]. None of them have shields but both the swordman or the "spearman" could have them added. The Orcs are man-sized [25mm scale] and stand with slightly stooped postures. Not quite the "Flight or Fight" stance of a troll, but very close. One mold has 3 Orc "Beserkers". These figures are in attacking or charging poses. One is charging, hunched over with a sword. The sword is separate and so a mace/club could be substituted. He has a shield and scraps of chainmail for protection. The second is attacking with a large warhammer and shield. The third is flailing about with a sword held two-handedly. It is not, however, a Greatsword. I am going to lengthen the blade to make it into a greatsword on my figures. He has the top-knot, a shield and mace hang from his belt. The other mold has 3 Orcs in less animated poses. One is in a defensive posture with sword and shield. The second is standing more-or-less upright with a glaive. A mace hangs from his belt. The third is advancing with a crude axe held in both hands. A third mold exists...i believe that they are Orc Archers but i'm not sure... The Goblin mold is #678 The Orcs were #677, 684 and 685 [but i don't know which is which, sorry] I presume that these are still available. Howard ------------------------------
