Howdy,

As the organizer for Fall of the House of Malan, I am obliged to answer Andrew's legitimate comments about when character write-ups will be ready.

G'day LARP organisers,

>Are we going to get full character write-ups emailed to us before the Con ?

Yes. Some of you have already recieved them. Others will receive them over the next few days. I hope to send full write-ups to everybody except the Seattle-ite gamers (you know who you are) that I routinely see in pubs.

>I have got one paragraph write-ups so far but would really appreciate
>full write-ups by this Friday to help get my creative costuming juices
>flowing. Hopefully other people are in the same boat.

Andrew, I hope to send your write-up in the next day or two. Remember that what I send is a pre-con release. That means that there might be some additional information contained in the Con Package (like more info on other players, rules, etc.) although the pre-con release contains everything you NEED to know.

Of course, it should go without saying that y'all aren't suppose to discuss your characters with other players until the LARP starts on Sunday.

>After all does the head of the Imperial bodyguard wear full-dress
>Imperial Armour or is it in fact forbidden in the Imperial Court to
>help thwart any ambitious types ? Do I get my own rubber scimitar or do I
>need to provide my own ? Who can I con into braiding crimson ribbons into
>my hair (this is a serious plea) ? Does my wife realise she is going to
>be sewing me tartan trousers this weekend (mixing David Dunham and Mr
>Robertsons suggestions) ? the list goes on.

I dunno, does your wife know she's going to sewing tartan trousers? For everybody playing in Fall of the House of Malan - please provide whatever costuming you desire - including rubber swords, kilts, trousers, braids in the hair, washable woad, whatever. Although David Dunham is correct about the Quivini dress being striped trousers and tunics, don't be dissuaded from wearing kilts! Personally I think they'll look way cool!!

Other additional costuming ideas are:
Lawstaffs for Lawspeakers;
Torcs or armbands for thanes, chiefs and kings; Crowns for kings;
"Strong Hats" or straw hats for carls;
and whatever your fiendishly creative minds can come up with.

Jeff
