Andrew Joelson writes in purported quotation:
> Alex Ferguson:

That wasn't me, please mind your levels of nesting...

> All this aside, I am saying that the Diest mindset is the one

> Solace, and the Kralorelan mystics normally end up with Enlightenment.

Well, that's a) quite different from what you said a post or so ago; and b) confusing, since while Illumination and Enlightenment are relatively similar processes, and perhaps even the same "state", Solace is something _quite_ different. The contrast between "Deist" and "Kralorelan mystics" is also misleading, as the Pelorian schools of Illumination are also undoubtably of a Mystical bent.

Chris Bell, in the traditional riot of 40-line quotes and > 80 char lines:
> From some previous postings here on the digest, I've seen it written
> that Irripi Ontor was not only a priest of Lhankor Mhy, but also was
> Yanafal Tarnil's court Vizier and a fairly powerful practicioner of
> Carmanian/Malkioni style sorcery.

I think this was Nick's idea (or was it Loren? I'm not sure, as I believe I recall one of 'em also had yet another idea, about him being a Yuthuppan Celestologist (person who gets dizzy watching the Sky while Greg changes his mind about it), and I forget who's was which), but I think the point was he was this "instead of" being a Lightbringer, not "as well as".

Well, you might think this, but I think it's fairly clear that Pelorians as a rule don't, and Illuminants _certainly_ don't. Even the Malkioni definition of "chaos" is considerably at variance from the good ole Orlanthi one.

> Illumination would perhaps allow one to escape the Gift Carriers, for

I think "Psychic Liberation" and "invisibility from the Gods" make very strange bedfellows in explaining Illumination. As Illuminants don't cause Yelm to miss with a Sunspear if some Imperator prays to be rid of this Turbulent Mystic, I don't think the latter explanation is a very helpful one.

> The Red Goddess includes within her the entire healed Cosmos, being the
> feminine aspect of the Creator (Yikes! have I become Illumined?)

Rather, the Lunars believe that the Goddess _is_ the Creat[o]r[ix]. Sedenya created everything, and isn't merely the feminine aspect of anyone else.

Good luck,
Alex.
