Hi guys, I am working on an Ironhoof figure for my wargame campaign. The figure is a conversion that requires a little skill at modelling - but not to much, as i can do it! I am using the Orion, Wood Elf King figure by Games Workshop as well as their Unicorn Figure. Both are relatively expensive, but Ironhoof deserves the best right? With a sharp razor saw chop Orion off with a neat "v-shaped" cut just below his "belt". Then chop the unicorns head off at the base of his neck. This takes a bit of doing - that neck is thick! I think you probably get the picture of what to do next. I used Orion's Arms, Head and Cape as they came originally, though changes could well be made. I reasoned Orion's antlers are probably from some "Wild Hunt" HQ. The Cape is a gift from the Elves [IMO] and provides concealment in woods. The Horn of the Wild Hunt is used as per Warhammer. As is his Lance/Staff. Only the names have been changed... I mounted him on a large 2-1/2 inch washer. [In my campaign single entities are mounted on round bases, Troopers of square bases]. He makes a very large and imposing figure! One last thing: This conversion leaves you with a set of cloven-hoofed legs and a fierce Unicorn's head. Hmmm..... Howard ------------------------------
