I do recall from an ancient predecessor to this Digest in a discussion of circumcision and male genital mutilation (ouch!) that some tribal group (Australian Aboriginal?) practiced some sort of ritual cutting "to steal women's magic of monthly bleeding". While not a "secret" as such, the cycle could _involve_ powerful secrets in mythic terms.
Now as to the Blue Moon Cycles, well, what is it's cycle? I don't recall how often Annila makes the big dive down the Pool. And how close is the "sync" here?
