Hey, hey,

just played through "Down to the Scum Quarter" in Breakout! No. 34. What a laugh (choose A Five-Pronged Fish-Spear from the Equipment list!!!)!
Thanks for the hint Mr. MoB. If you have the chance to play or buy it on an auction
go for it.
I wonder what happend to the "games 489"? Was it a success? Any Aussie out there who knows?

Anybody familiar with "Whymsie Cards"?
Whymsie Cards are tools from the GM for the players to give them more influence on the course of play.
With these cards players can interfere in the game in certain situations where
they feel that a different course of action or a certain event would be more fun.
So players and their ideas can (!) be added to the game or even plot. Sounds like a horrortrip for GMs but works fine (the GM can always veto).
The label says: " Whimsy Cards bring to life the suprise and circumstance not
normally found in role-playing adventures. Subject to gamemaster approval,
players intervene in and add to the story. Use yours to add humor, suspense,
drama, and emotion to your favorite game..."

My personal Top 4:
Bizarre Coincidence
Two or more things come together against incredible odds. Old friends (and enemies)
run into you in the supermarket, you joust happen to have the rare item you need
in your closet, etc.

Erratic Behavior
Someone or something exhibits wild, unexpected behavior. Could be party members,
enemies, mounts, spells, or equipment.

Unexplained Event
Something happens.
You don't know why.

Make your own.

The cards were mainly produced for the use in ARS Magica (if I remember correctly). I
don't know if they are still available.
