Gloranthan Precession

Somebody intimated that precessions are impossible in Glorantha and supports this by mentioning a Papal Bull from Greg that the sky has been undisturbed since the Dawn (save for the Sun Stop).

I fail to see the logic in this train of thought. A precession is not a major disturbance of the heavens, it is a failure of the (human-wrought) calender. Given that the korkoresan calender (the best Yuthuppan calender to date and the one which finally nails the Southpath down) is less than 400 years old and has continously adhered to by the bureacracy since the reign of Magnificus (about 200 years ago)*, I don't think the Lunars would have any cause to see signs of precession _yet_ (thus 'proving' that they have finally got the calender right).

*The bureacracy have been using the calender in TakenEgi's time but Sheng Seleris's reign effectively wipes out any continuity between the two periods. During the Reconstruction, the Lunars are far more likely to look at the heavens to determine the new year rather than calculate precisely how many days has elapsed since Sheng Seleris reached Peloria.
