There has been some discussion on how Belintar was captured. IMG he died on his own (burnt up the host body with his immense magical powers during the years). Tournament then begun, but nothing happened. Someone propably won, and everyone of the contestors returned to their own time, some dead, some not.

Belintar had walked hell-path to receive another soul. Jar-Eel had HQ'ed to meet him at a ford (not Styx), where she incapacitated her and Jajagapa was given the task of holding him as a prisoner forever. This course of actions was also suggested in Glorantha-Con 1 compendium by Greg, if my memory works.
