Engizi

Joerg got his info on Engizi from me, I believe.

About six months ago, I was rereading part of King of Sartar, and it struck me like a hammer when I realized what was going on. King Ironhoof, in chasing the Lady of the Wild, was actually traveling through the sky!

Look at the description, page 106:

"His Walking Companion [Mastakos] bore him across the plain where stars are like bushes, and the Lady escaped only by diving into the River Engizi.

Ironhoof swam after her, and defended himself with his home herd when the waters tumbled him over white water and, at last, the Falls of Engizi. There the Lady of the Wild left the stream and dashed up the side of a steep cliff.

Before Ironhoof could grasp her she disappeared among the deep brush of the Stinking Forest."

So, Ironhoof dives into a heroplane river, which seems to be in the night sky (carried by the planet Mastakos across the plain "where the stars are like bushes"), cascades over the Falls of Engizi, then chases the Lady of the Wild up a steep cliff into the Stinking Forest. So, this means that the Falls of Engizi are near the Stinking Forest.

Greg did indeed confirm for me that the River Engizi was the celestial river (as mentioned in GRoY) and the Falls of Engizi is in fact the Sky Fall over Sky Fall Lake. This means that the River Engizi is both the river in the sky, and the name of The River.

>From this, two or three months later I realized that the local name of
Sky River Titan to the Orlanthi was therefore probably Engizi.
