Here are two points you should consider -
- Email/digests are very easy places to misread someone's writings. The
Glorantha digest's history is full of examples of protracted arguments
between people about subjects that they mostly agreed on. (Everyone
remember Onslaught's Bite Attack?) Once the various parties understand one
another, much fun is had by all. Patience and a tough hide are very
important to this forum, for people rarely mean to be nasty, though it
might come off that way in e-mail.
- The SFC has been deovting considerable amount of time developing farming
in 1300's Sartar for over two years now. We have quizzed Greg, read oodles
of books on Bronze & Iron age farming, consulted fellow Digesters, and
played our little hearts out weekly as the misunderstood ( though rather
violent) Varmandi clan. We also published a lot of our work in "Enclosure"
this summer. You simply stumbled into an area where we all have a vested
interest. Other opinions are welcome, but we can't resist testing them.
Human nature, I suppose.
