Cheers for the info everyone, I think I misled people a bit with the second question about Gim Gim, when I said who/what is he I mean is he human/demon rather than his job description.
>
>The Black Fang assassins are mentioned briefly in Gods of Glorantha.
>Although I think it has been suggested on the Digest that they are part
>of the Pavis cult, I find this to be wholly unnecessary and un-MGF-like.

Un MGF like? We had hours of fun playing around with this. There's one rune level BF cultist for every Pavic family (which neatly coincides with the number of trade areas (eg Ingillis control the fishing). Along comes the Lunars & takes over the city, Pavis, the cult, wants to keep its city intact & so Gim Gim becomes initiated into BF. At the time when the Lunars are getting a slapping & it's seen that their position in Pavis is untenable, up steps the ousted BF guy, Argrath, stages a coup & does in Gim Gim. Net result Pavis changes hands twice without being sacked.

A couple of things Steve mention reinforce the fact:  a legendary
>bandit during the Troll Occupation,

(a Pavic freedom fighter?)

>However, I feel inclined to point out that the material Danny submitted

(which was a later version of the draft we sent you [and thanks for all your input, by the way])
had a number of very obvious Gloranthan errors in it,

As I said, that's the editor's job.

to the point that >the entire History section was, IMO, useless, The history section was never submitted, it was taken for granted that Dave Dunham's history was correct & so we didn't touch it (after taking into account what you said about the 1st draft).

>Also, keep in mind that the badly-presented response Danny did receive
>was sent at the time when Chaosium was dealing with Avalon Hill to change
>ownership of RuneQuest forever.

None of the scenarios were ever sent precisely because of this reason. They did hire Rob to be editor & I wouldn't have thought that he would have had too much to do with the RQ ownership debate. (Although I must state here that he is a nice guy and when we finally got in contact turned out to be most helpful).

[Whatever you do, don't let start going on about the Pendragon Crusades project... ;)]
