>how do most people pronounce the 'J' in Jrustela/Jrusteli ?

I pronounce it 'hard' so the effect is Jir-roo-ste-etc rather than yir-roo-ste-etc.

>Let me give you some examples:

Some corrections are in order. The Roman model is still valid in that we have: Senators and Emperors and military occupational practices. The Persian model gives us Satraps and Carmanians and Magi. We have phalanxes and peltasts and cavalry from the Hellenes. The Lunar way is a smorgasborg of Indian Philosophy whereas the major god of one of the cities is a thinly disguised version of Shiva Nataraja. There are ancient friezes from Mesopotamia and the Priests of Yuthuppa are analogous to the ancient babylonian astronomers.

As for the greek mention of the 'nomads', I presume you are referring to the Orlanthi. To dispel the notion that KoS gwegged all the Orlanthi into dark age people, I should note that 'Thanes' and 'feuds' appear in Orlanthi society in Cults of Terror (copyright 1981). The cities still exist in Sartar (and the greek and roman cities divided their citizens along _tribal_ lines) whereas the funny costumes can easily be holdovers from the EWF and/or latest fashions from the Holy Country.
