Hi all

+Cactus elves
After thinking about it, I propose the following taxonomy for elves. During the green age, the childrens of Aldrya shared the land. When the sun rose, the flowers opened.
An unruly storm god killed the emperor and the sun set, he brought the first rain.
Where the rain was strong the cactus (white) died. Where the winter came the jungle (yellow) died, and the brown slept. Where the winter resides, even the green died, leaving only a toundra.

It explains the distribution of vegetation in Glorantha. The jungle is present in Pamaltela and Teshnos. The deciduous forests happens in Umathela and southern Genertela. Winterwood and Rathorela are evergreen forests. North of Fronela only the toundra exists. The cactus forests exist only in arid territory.

The cactus desert in the Wastes is a bad place for the Praxians, because it is arid (almost no food for the herd) and is one of the last white elves forests, with a great cactus, cactus dryads and cactus elves. Beware the animated war cactus <g>.

+Spirit cults
First kudos to Nick for his description.

You don't really need a shaman to lead a spirit cult. You need only someone who knows how to summon the spirit. But a shaman is safer, because he can go into the spirit plane and get more information about the spirit than a non-shaman can have.

A priest of Zola Fel can summon Frog Woman, a spirit allied to the river, but summoning a dehori will be riskier (even forbidden but it is an other question).
Speaking of Frog Woman, the best power she has is her control over frogs, they are stupid animals but they have eyes. Who will worry about being watched by frogs ?

+Malkioni castes&magic
Sandy proposed some rules. I agree with him on the Rokari, Sedalpists and Valkarists.

Peace
