Matthew Boulton lived during one of the most exciting periods in the
development of science and technology..... He was a member of the
LUNAR Society whose members included Erasmus Darwin (Charles's
grandfather), Joseph Priestley, James Watt and Josiah Wedgewood met
monthly when the moon was full. (hence the society's name) to share
the excitement of their discoveries.
