Magic Items

Useless Magic Items:

These were given out as useless but we actually found a use for them:

A Jug of Ale which for 1 MP fills up with weak ale (trashed a desert scenario).

A Detect Mountain matrix, ENC 20, range 5m, costs 4MP (Is there a mountain within 5m of me? It actually came in handy while flying through thick mist near a mountain which screamed when enemies touched it).

A Portaloo, a small box with a button on the side. When pressed, the box expands and turns into a toilet stall, big enough for one person. Comes complete with a inexhaustible supply of toilet paper (which disintegrates on exit of the portaloo) and flushes away "somewhere". This was given out because the GM found it funny that we never seemed to need to go to the toilet on extended journeys. However, it came in handy when disposing of the evidence of our activities - it takes about 15 minutes to cut up and flush away a Lunar patrolman, about 1 hour for a horse and 15 minutes for a walktapus. Fortunately, many of us were good butchers. The GM threatened to run a scenario where we travelled to where the Portaloo flushed to, but we refused pointblank (something like 100 walktapi went there in small pieces!)

"Storm Paul's Ear" which adds 10% to listen and "sticks out and looks silly".

Jake's Amulet which gives the wearer an extra leg (ala Jake the Peg), allowing them to split a kick with no SR disadvantage. This was spoiled somewhat when Shergar the Centaur took it. Gave him a good kick, though!

Can't think of the others, although I have a stack of index cards two inches thick full of junk magic items which may come in useful - occasionally, our players would leaf through THEIR two-inch pack of cards to find a magic item that would be useful in a certain situation. Normally they could.

If you REALLY want the cintents of a two-inch thick set of cards mailed to the list then mail me :-)
