Mr. Suitcase responds...

Hello,
to: glorantha_at_chaosium.com

Laurent poses a number of questions (and makes a number of assumptions...) Please call me Rick. Mr. Meints is my father. I'm 31 years old.

Why did I purchase all the stuff for ten years?

- -----------------------------------------------
I love Runequest and Glorantha. As an obsessive collector, I've wanted a copy of everything, but many times I've been disappointed with what I've purchased, especially when a newer edition comes out a few years later that makes the original version have far less importance.

Laurent tells me I know nothing about the European market...

- ------------------------------------------------------------
I've lived in England, which pretends to be in Europe, for the last 3 years. I've also spent several months living in both Germany and Spain. I've been to 8 conventions in Europe, including the German RQ Con (twice) and Convulsion in England. Each has had an auction with loads of RQ2 stuff. PS: I work for Ford. Mobile is short for Mobile Phone.

Since you've insulted me in public by saying I'm not an RQ Fan, and only an egoist, I'll defend my actions by pointing out (and not try to brag) that I've been actively involved in Tales of the Reaching Moon for the last 4 issues. I've done the layout of Tradetalk for issues 2 and 3. I've volunteered at 5 of the last 6 Glorantha Cons and haven't been paid one penny to be there. I've been an auctioneer in both Germany and the UK at convention auctions. I'll shut up on this, because I'll only get angry.

I find it very distressing that Laurent speaks very casually about the fact that 80% of the RQ2 material in France is ILLEGAL and breaks a variety of international copyright laws.

I will probably never sell my RQ collection. Since that is the case, how can you say that I really care whether it is worth a lot of money?

Peter Metcalfe (nice to hear from you) mentions I didn't list Griffin Mtn.

- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
OOPS. I thought about listing the RQ Companion, but most of the stuff missing is coming out soon in Tales or Tradetalk. Grififn Mountain is a tougher call. Yeah, the Gloranthan bits were taken out when it was switched to the RQ3 island setting, but a lot is still there. The cult stuff is available elsewhere, albeit piecemeal. Thanks for keeping me honest...

Take Care,
