OOP items

Why is Gloranthan OOP material so expensive? I don't know. The on= ly
OOP material I own is RQ2 and RQ2 Apple Lane, and I don't see anything exciting about it. Does Pavis tell everything you need about Pavis? I dou= bt
it. It will just give you some stats and some answers that bring more que= stions.

The reason why I play in Ralios (and now as a player in Fronela) = is
not that I lack some important OOP source, but that too much information = is
available to players, even only with in print material. So Sartarites kno= w
too much about the Lunars, the Praxians, the trolls...

I suppose it depends on temperament. I only play scenarios in sol= o
play (for a long time my only RQ play), and I prefer my own twisted mind (and my players devious alterations on my plot) when I GM a group. So Borderlands or Big Rubble interest me only as inspiration (or to test my = old
Black Fang Runelord, Camrod the Accursed).

If you take the Digest as a model, most people just make up their questions, instead of referring to OOP sources, as those same sources are
"compromised". I mean, if Lhankor Mhy no longer has Rune Lords, Yelmalio =
was
created fifty years ago, or Argrath was really a bunch of guys, most of t= hem
very unpleasant, what was written back in 1982 can be safely ignored if y= ou
have a cooler idea. Of course, having a cool idea is the tricky part.

Because if we begin to complain, what about no-printed material? Snodal saga, Jonat saga, Pamaltela, the Seas, Harmast saga, Arkat saga... and Imther pack, of course.

Once I thought like you, and I hunted for the AD&D Greyhawk 1st E= d
Boxed set through all of Europe. When I found it the only really interest= ing
thing was the map. Now I have learnt, and I sell my games to buy more gam= es.
I have even sold almost all my RQ.

It is you who make the game. You who has to decide what exist and what does not. And they will not make you happy. And unless you play RQ2, they will not even save you your time.

In Convulsion 94 I did not bid over 5=A3, as nothing was worth mo= re,
to me. For a group, such as the Chaos Society, things are different.

Why not just ask the list? I have found people are very helpful w= hen
you have just a simple question. So instead of asking "What is the Politi= cal
Situation in Pavis", that you will find in River of Cradles, ask "Is ther= e
any dirt on the Ingilli family?"

Concerning photocopies, they are rampant in France and Spain, and not only for RQ. It is a matter of book price (a 20$ book becomes 35-40$ after translation) and limited availability of imported supplements. RQ i= s
not even the worse (AD&D and Rolemaster are the bigger victims, in my experience).

So forget those dusty supplements (unless as an investment) and l= ook
forward into the future.
