Runegate Fort

My thanks to Peter Metcalfe for reminding me what I wrote about Runegate Fort in Tales #12!

While you are in Runegate Fort I also suggest that you visit the Weeping Swan Inn. The landlord is a fine fellow who serves his own Best Brew, Bulster's, and the King's Ale. We have also found there are fewer lice in the beds than Geo's (and the Lunars take less of an interest in you).

If you have a few days to spare why not visit the Greydog Inn and sample some fine Sartarite hospitality. Room rates are very cheap! The beer served is excellent (especially the Auld Mutz ale) and the atmosphere is always congenial. Often there is live bagpipe music!

Please note that there are no Broos at the Big Elm, contrary to what you may have read elsewhere. Also, the Inn does not serve Sorcerors.

More on the Greydog Inn will appear in Tales #18.

Telmori

I've always presumed that the Telmori fought Argrath either because he had caused the death of the rightful king (Kallyr) or because he reneged on Sartar's promise to lift their curse.

However, Jeff's idea that Argrath dropped them for political reasons is no doubt true as well.

Cheers,

David Hall
