Hi All,

Simon Bray replies to my earlier post:-

Not really, if you take a pantheonic view of Praxian worship, then those warriors of the tribe in question (only) who have the sense chaos ability will sense the victim as chaotic. Waha being the tribal god it seems reasonable (to me ayway) that his rituals could affect the enrire tribe. All members of the tribe would consider the taboo breaker to be chaotic, but only the tribal Storm Bulls, who are also initiates of the tribe's Waha cult would sense the victim as chaotic. Other Storm Bulls would detect nothing.

Me>>Of course the victim of the curse is _not_ truely chaotic (outside of

Simon>So if they sprout a tentacle, only members of their tribe will be able

Er, my point was that the victim of the spell is _not_ chaotic and therefore won't be sprouting tentacles for anyone to see. (If they did then sense chaos would seem somewhat redundant :-) ).

The spell would only be cast on someone who had gone so far 'beyond the pale'* in breaking tribal taboo that they are viewed as 'chaotic' or as-good-as-chaotic by their former tribe. The victim is _not_ chaotic and such a spell (IMHO) would not make them so.

I am not wedded to having such a spell IMG, just looking for a version which would provide a mechanism for ostracising (sp?) someone, but not allow Praxians to create chaos (which is what Doyle Wayne Ramos-Tavener appears to have originally proposed - remember I could not read all of the initial posting).

Apologies if my previous post exceeded my usual non-ability to convey my meaning :-)

*no offence to the Irish digesters :-)
