Depends on who you ask. The East Isles claim it was the waking magicians trying to bring back the greater darkness. Some people had children, saw them grow up and have their own children during the sunstop. Others say that it only lasted a little while. Depends on where they were.
Time broke down during the sunstop, so dating right before and after is sort of ugly.
