Yes, I was never asked not to discuss it. I chose not to discuss it
because any detailed discussion would be premature, I haven't seen enough.
What I can say is -
- - if you were expecting 'a new RuneQuest', you will probably be disappointed
- - if you were hoping for something different, it looks very promising.
- - it attempts to create a narrative rather than simulate the world and its
physics. This will please many and annoy some. As RuneQuest is in the
latter camp, its quite likely that some long time RQ people (and lets face
it, most of us are long time RQ people) won't like it. Thats OK, its target
audience is not us (though I expect most of us will buy it, they need to
sell a lot more than that).
- - The mechanics look interesting, and like they have great potential.
- - Robin looks to be doing a great job, and while I'm sure in time there
will be some room for input from the Gloranthan community, at the moment
I'd rather he just keep working on the game.
- - Robin has a great grasp on Glorantha, and is working closely with Greg,
and even if you don't like the mechanics it will still be a great
Gloranthan resource.
Cheers
