Uz Say : Darkness is within all things and before all things. Darkness is everywhere for all things have their shadow, though sometimes it is a secret shadow. Darkness is that which lies between being and non-being, it is before all things and after all things. Thus before light shines in a place it is dark, and after a light shines in a place again it is dark. See how darkness always wins in the end!
