In primitive societies, like rural Sartar, populations are subject to good and bad harvests much more than modern people. The bad harvest would cause starvation. The good harvests would not make up for these. The Bless Crops spell guarantees at least the average harvest therefore removing the risks of poor harvests. This is much more significant than a 10% productivity bonus. The economics of the Bless Crops spell are worth considering. (OK, so it's a bit of a rules lawyer type thing to consider, but hey, I'm a Production/Stock Planner in the RW and professionally worry about stock-outs and oversupply). If you were a Godlearner you might consider combining an Extended Hie Wagon spell on your souped up plough with a big Damage Boost/Bladesharp spell on your ploughshare on he day that you do your ploughing. This might make you some sort of Hero of Barntar and encourage big fields without hedgerows.
