<<Yinkin - In the cult write up Yinkin is said to have died & been
resurrected many times in god-time - I would suggest 9 seems an
appropriate number (though I don't know who was responsible for them
all) - hence the Orlanthi saying "As many lives as Yinkin" when one of
their number has a particularly close call...

BTW, when I put that in (I wrote the piece), I had noticed that Yinkin has a
death myth (the Orlanth's stead myth) associated with him in King of Sartar. I
figured that some reason would have to be given, mythologically, for the way
the cult declined; and it would also explain where Yinkin's powers have gone.
Like Divine Interventions, his resurrections cost him POW.
Originally, Yinkin was a rather dangerous predator, with strange draconic
abilities, etc. Or so they say. The disappearance of the Yinkini Hsunchen
could be said to be one of the 'deaths' within Time.
Here are some of the 'deaths' I can recall/invent:
1) When Orlanth rescues him from the fall he caused on Mt Kero Fin.
2) In battle during the wooing of Ernalda. Yinkin is one of the kittens
Orlanth presents (reborn) to his wife.
3) In the stead, by the Bad Dogs.
4) In the Darkness, with the stead guard. He is resurrected from Hell.
Orlanthi children learn about death from the cats they keep. It should be
noted that Death is not the same as Kajabor, and obviously Yinkin knows the
secrets of transcending death. I'm not sure if he's on his ninth life yet,
because that would mean no more...

Oh yeah. I've been in rural France for a while, so I've missed a lot. I suspect things are slow right now, however.
