Not really, no, just putting forward ideas about how to get more people going to the con - I didn't realise that a couple of the (non-Convulsion) cons either made a loss or broke even, so more ways of making money is A Good Thing.

That said, I do realise that it must be nigh on impossible to get the balance right between all the key stuff that people go to Convulsion for and, at the same time, trying to appeal to a wider audience. If you bring in more non-Gloranthan stuff then it may appeal less to Gloranthophiles and, after all, the con is primarily for them. I wholeheartedly applaud Nick, Rick et al for all the work they've put into these cons over the years for otherwise there would be no cons at all - a doubleplus bad thing.

On a personal level, I'm looking forward to four days of pure doubleplusgood fun, sun, Mythos, Elric & Coc tournament scenarios, and of course meeting all my pals that I haven't seen for ages. (Now if only I'd remembered to send back my freeform sheet - bugger :( ).

I would go with drawing on a small scale at first and letting them become aware of one culture and one place. (snip) Not something a bit outre like the Grazers. Not for the very first game.

Well it was all I had already printed up that I could hand out (the remnants of those handouts Richard Faragher did for the last con). And, to be honest, I'm a bit lost when it comes to the Sartarites with all the other stuff about them that's been the digest recently.

Aaah, that means Malkionism (ptui) and sorcery (ptui, ptui). Mind you, it does mean Vadeli (hurrah) Actually I may steal Simon Bray's Afadjann stuff & use that, I thought it was rather good when I played part of it.

But I've told NODDSOC (as they're called) that I'm going to run Hero Wars when their next year starts, come hell or highwater, to see what they think about the system. I'll post up the results, it'll be interesting to think what non-Gloranthophiles think about the game system.
