Just to throw in my 2 cents worth (or is that 2
shillings, across the sea?), I have noticed a
tendancy towards publisher "blurbs" and quotes to
label the big heroes and great "crusade" type
stories as high fantasy. The "scraping by" stuff
doesn't seem to be labeled at all. Low fantasy by
default?
But everybody knows American publishers and
critics are illiterate. :)
(And I am getting sick of cheap paperbacks with
bad glue. Not to mention poorly edited
hardbacks).
