Your change worshipping Orlanthi is now fighting for stasis. The red woman, arguably a product of the stasis oriented Pelorians is espousing change, though you might be able to argue that cyclical change is effectively stasis as you always end up where you were.

I'd have to give ritual points to the Red Woman. Dying is an integral part of the cycle, so she wasn't defeated as such, and she remained thoroughly within her mythic structure. While the young hero fulfilled many of the stations of his quest if you like, he seems to have lost touch with some of the core beliefs. If he is able to make the intuitive leap, he may well realize that this break with the traditional values is likely at the core of his clan's unrest. He might well be able to turn things on their heads, and pull a great victory out of it. If he doesn't, what he is most likely to end up with is a facade of success and power with a rotten core. Hidden treachery, blindness to problems, and all sorts of fun stuff. Either way he has some interesting times ahead of him.

I'll admit to an obscure point of view, but this should translate.

If you manage to survive all the incredibly stupid feats of youth... - -..you become a wise elder or a crazy old fart... - -....depending of course on the gullibility of the audience...
