How many people use the term "fumble" in its RuneQuest sense? (More people probably use it as a sports metaphor, at least in the USA.) I think Big Failure is better for beginners, and probably leaves it more open to interpretation as to what sort of bad results can happen.
And a Big Success doesn't necessarily end up with a heroic final outcome, so I think the current term is just fine.
