My favourite is the idea of having all the poshies on rich hill pronouncing
it the way the French say Paris. ie they live in Par-Vee, only people of
ill breeding prounounce the 'S'.
In much the same way Notchet is No-Shay and Furthest is South Glamour
(snotty people in London call Battersea South Chelsea [or occasionally
Battarzia]).
