>I believe it is possible to heroquest to become recognised as the son of
>a god, and perhaps this is what is meant when Arkat is called the Son of
>Humakt.

It is also possible to be a son of a living god or an incarnation of a god. Gloranthan examples are the Vessel of Light in Teshnos, Moonson in you-know-where, Waha & Jaldon in historical Prax and at least one of the Five Arkats in Ralios.

Given that the Brithini only know Arkat's father as a Barbarian Warrior, my opinion was that his father was the incarnation of Humakt and so Arkat's father really was Humakt.

>Offhand, does anyone know when the Hsunchen first appeared in myth?

The Kralori have contradictory myths about the Dragon People who once ruled all of Kralorela before the coming of the Emperors.
