Really quick post here.

I think several people were deliberately missing the point on the spriritual ecological impact of the bat, but then I suspect there is more than poster even here that feels that recycling is a bunch of (insert favorite epithet). I think that a souls shortage would be a terrifying and potentially brilliant campaign theme. Humakti running around pruning wasted lives to put the souls back in line for rebirth, and above all, scrag the bat. With the real world situation this all may be way too close to home for most folks. I'd like a world with infinite resources to escape to.

I've played a few games of Hero Wars now so here are some thoughts. The level of abstraction is a plus and a minus. I have some difficulty in assigning emotional impact to most affects, this is likely to improve. The game mechanic follows RQ in its solopsist approach of having rolls target the character's skill rather than the action attempted. Not a style I favor, and it really does encourage a focus away from the environment. I suspect to some this is a plus.
