I thought of that, but I was trying to spare the sensibilities of of apparent majority of the players (who wanted to play humans), and not least, of the hapless GM. ;-)

That's a spurious argument to the point of silliness. You stick a statue of Sartar in the Orlanth temple, we God Learners call him an Associate Diety, and it's a Done Deal.

Pardon my terminological imprecision. I just meant "in a tribal setting" (i.e., out in the sticks, as opposed to in the city), not "_into_" a tribe as such. I agree, O&E initiations happen at the clan level, and only whacky stuff like the band of Humakti huscarls hanging around the tribal king have initiation on any sort of "tribal" basis.
