Steve:

>If the Red Goddess herself was apotheosized only 27 years after her birth,
>why are wanes 2x (54 years) long?

'The Red Goddess was born in Rinliddi (Peloria) in 1220 ST.
Lunar chronomancers always start their chronologies from
that date. The Red Goddess lived on the surface world for
        27 years before her apotheosis.

When she departed and took her place in the sky, the goddess
was at the height of her powers. Her possessions on earth
suffered a decrease in available mana for 27 years after her
ascent to the levels availalble when the goddess had been on
earth. This makes a 54-year period between crests of power,
with a central low point. This cycle is called a Wane, since
the power is at a wane during its center'

>So, in fact there would really never be a Lunar date 0/28? It would go
>0/26, 0/27, 1/1.

Correct.

>That's screwy.

IMO it is not as screwy as living by a calender which bases the central date on the birth of a culture-hero but misdates the same event wrong by at least four years!
