I don't think it's *that* strange for major mythological structures to be built over generations...for example I would imagine there's a whole historiographic mythology showing why it was THESE people that brought about the Red Goddess, and why they were the penultimate result of the mythical forces that ultimately brought about the Goddess. For those unfamiliar with it, remember the Immaculate Conception (a fairly major event to some Catholics) was not the conception of Jesus, but the conception of Mary.

Point well taken.

That said, I saw the quote later out of CoT, which pretty conclusively explains it. Of course, that's assuming reality is the same now as when it was written - in Glorantha an always-arguable assumption....
