It's number one function is to impregnate. Usually Ernalda, but not always.
His water can also purify to some degree.
There is a rare Acid Rain spell, too.
(Most Gloranthan Acids are very strong waters which have the magical power of
dissolving/destroying impurities. Several lands were destroyed by Rivers of Acid
during the Blue Age, I believe. Many canyons were created by these rivers. There
are rare Acid Undines, as well. This, I think, explains why Heler was once so
powerful in war. These powers are not generally available to his cult, although
Player Characters may be able to obtain them, with a fair amount of difficulty.)
