Jane is not a happy camper:

Again I have to quibble with the word "storm". As I understand it it, OA/OW/Vinga will certainly have Wind magic, Bless Thunderstone and the like, be able call call Lightning, etc, etc Yadda (nephew Tada) Yadda. What they may not be able to do is Cloud Call, Thunder, and the like. Translate all the above references into nearest HW equivalents, of course.

This is purely my own "take", and I don't claim to be "in the loop" of the Official RetCon on this.

And furthermore, while this is certainly the _usual_ thing for women warriors to do, I don't think it's the be-all-and-end-all. (Though why would a warrior particularly _want_ Cloud Call?)

I agree entirely with J=F6rg's thinking:
> Isn't it possible that women in certain cultic positions may be =
reckoned
> to be sufficiently male to enter another subcult of Orlanth?

Right. The question in my mind is, though, do they do this simply by dint of being so manifestly gung-ho that no-one dast deny them admittence, lest they get nutted for their pains, or is their a specific, separate initiatory path that facilitates it? (A la Nandan, almost, though it's hardly so extreme.)

I suspect the latter, but the bottom line is that I feel strongly that either way, it is possible, by hook or by crook. (Ernaldan proverb, anyone?)

Slainte,
Alex.
