Don't opt out just yet as there is no need.

Firstly, the world Jeff is commenting on is indeed the future of Glorantha. The character keywords for Orlanth are in the latest version of the HW playtest rules:

Olanth Rex Chiefs and Kings =

Orlanth Farmer Carls and Cottars
Orlanth Thunderer Storm Voices
Orlanth Warrior Housecarls, Weaponthanes.

Vinga has all the magic package characteristics of OW but her own set of abilities.

Now OW and Vinga have no storm powers, though they do have the lighting feat etc, anything stolen from the gods by good ol Orlanth. =

However, what has to be emphasised is that this initial package is not the end of the story. It is perfectly likely that any character can learn an ability in storm magic. So an OW or Vingan could do this and become very capable in it.

In the long run though, unless you are a Thunderous =

specialist, ie being Thunderous is your core characteristic by choice, your thunder magics will be limited to 2-3 masteries but by that stage you'll be blowing up continents so who gives a toss?

Also remember that the keywords only have a few feats listed so its quite possible to have many special Vingan feats, the Players and the GM simply make them up.

HW is far _less_ restrictive than RQ ever was. =

Chris Bell asked about the PDP write up for Shargash.

Its in Enclosure 1. More hero cults of the Red Path =

and other Alkothi details are in Enclosure 2.
