Hello, all!

I'm thinking about playing a Pol Joni Horseman in an upcoming IRC campaign set in Prax. I need some facts about the Pol Joni. tHis much I know about them...

They're a cattle herding people who ride hrorses, who live on the plains of Prax. They're releatively recent (last few centuries), managed to inculcate themselves into the mythological fabric of Prax by making sacrifice at the Paps to the Nonmad Gods (Waha and Eiritha) and oresumably HeroQuesting to "prove" that they are at least an Illegitimate of Tribe of Prax, that they are also counted as a Tribe of Sartar, and that they worship Orlanth and the Lightbringers as well as the Prax Gods, being able to call upon "Orlanth and his God Children". This info comes from page 14 of RoC. I've always liked the Pol Joni and have been aware of them since RQ2.

My questions are...

How does Pol Joni tribal life work? Is it the same as the life for most Praxians? What cult do their young adults initiate into...Waha, Orlanth, or both? Mythologiically, Orlanth is Waha's uncle, os perhaps that distant tie is accentuated? Are there Shamansd as wwwell as Rune Priests in their number? From my understanding, they were originally Drgaon Pass people, so presumably their priests would practice Sararite style Lightbringer worship. Would they also have Waha style Shamans in the tribe, Kolating Shamans adapted to the plains (worshipping Wild Hunter and so on?) or a fusion of the two? Would their Warleaders be Wind Lords, Waha Khans, or both? Would Orlanth Rex and Waha worship be combined in some weird way? And why the hell did the Pol Joni people leave Sartar? How are there cattle able to survive on the Prax chapparal? I thought that only animals who are part of the survival covenant could do this? Perhaps Pol Joni Heroquesters "proved" that Cattle were part of the covenenant?

Also, I wonder about the Unicirn Riders. While a minor tribe, who would their daily tribal life differ from that of the typical Praxian? It seems that the women are obviously in charge. Would the typical Unicorn Rider be an initiate of Yelorna, A strange feminie version of Waha, or both? Would the men initiate into Eiritha? Do the men normally take care of the traditional women's roles in the camp? Do the Uniciorn Riders see Waha as a female, and all the other triobes as "wrong"? What are the normal child rearing practices? I'd also imagine that solar worship and solar deities may well have greater representation in the Unicorn rider tribe, due to the Yelorna connection. I'd imagine that the Unicorn Rider Shamans (Shamanesses? Witches?) Would have superb skill at summoning sky and fire spirits. - --
